光電科學與技術作為光子學和電子學結合而成的熱點領域，是現代信息社會的重要基礎學科，是支撐高新產業(yè)布局和學科交叉發(fā)展的前沿方向，也是建設科技創(chuàng)新高地的關鍵領域之一。光電產業(yè)已經快速形成了一個龐大的產業(yè)鏈，極大地促進了傳統(tǒng)產業(yè)的轉型升級、新興產業(yè)的技術發(fā)展和產業(yè)結構的調整優(yōu)化，在國民經濟中發(fā)揮著極為重要的作用。

“世界光電科學與技術大會”將聯合多家知名高校、研究所和企業(yè)，邀請百余位行業(yè)領軍專家與會，重點展示國內外光電領域的新產品、新技術、新工藝、新應用等。同期將舉辦高規(guī)格、高質量的專場活動，如“微波光子技術與應用產學研高端論壇”、十三大專題分會、產學研對接會、西部科技創(chuàng)新成果展等，通過報告、討論、洽談、展示等方式，分享新一代光學、光子學和光電領域的創(chuàng)新成果和重要突破，探討國際熱點方向和發(fā)展趨勢，深化區(qū)域合作交流，促進區(qū)域互聯互通，推動光電科創(chuàng)中心集群的專業(yè)建設和人才建設，搭建一體化的產學研對接平臺，助力我國科技發(fā)展新格局的形成。
